ABSTRACT
This study investigated the recent trends of research into bullying in Korea. Two hundred and thirty three theses and articles reported in registered (proposed) scientific journals of the Korea Research Foundation, published from 1980 to 2007, were reviewed in terms of their research themes, participants, methods, and results. The results indicated that the most frequently visited themes in bullying research were the characteristics of both the bullies themselves and their victims. Most of the participants were adolescents. The use of questionnaires was found to be the most common research tool used. Moreover, most researchers used self-constructed assessment scales, and did so without reporting data in terms of either reliability or validity.
