ABSTRACT
This study investigated the moderating effect of supervisors' servant leadership on the relationship
between childcare center teachers’ affective commitment and their organizational citizenship behavior.
The subjects were 256 teachers employed in childcare centers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Provinces.
Questionnaires, which required self-reporting by the teachers, were used to investigate affective
commitments, supervisors' servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior. The collected
data were analyzed by means of Pearson's correlations, and hierarchical regressions, with the use of
SPSS Win 15.0. The results were as follows. First, the main effects of teachers’ affective
commitments and supervisors' servant leadership on teachers' organizational citizenship behavior were
observed. Teachers’ affective commitments and supervisors' servant leadership were positively associated
with teachers' organizational citizenship behavior. Second, interaction effects of teachers’ affective
commitment and supervisors' servant leadership on teachers' organizational citizenship behavior were
observed. The results of the study can be used to promote childcare center teachers' organizational
citizenship behavior through the teachers’ affective commitment and supervisors’ servant leadership.
