ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to examine the development and validity of the Internet Game Flow Scale for Children(IGFSC). The participants were 215 children in grades 5 and 6. Data were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis, Pearson\'s r and Cronbach\'s α. Results: The 10 items of the scale were found to be satisfactory in terms of item response distribution and item discrimination. Factor analysis revealed that a 2-factor solution was the best fit: enjoyment, and telepresence. Correlations between Internet game flow for child ratings and game interest ratings were significant. Cronbach\'s α ranged from .96 and .93 for two sub-scales and .95 for the total scale. The results revealed that the children internet game flow scale was a reliable and valid measure for evaluation of the Internet game flow for children.
