Maladaptive perfectionism had a partially mediating effect between the object relations level and depression. In short, it is apparent that women\'s object relations can have noticeable indirect effects upon depression via maladaptive perfectionism in addition to direct effects. This suggests that counseling interventions to help women deal with depression should attempt to understand their individual object relations and increase their object relations levels.
