ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of delinquent peers on the relationship between sensation seeking and juvenile delinquency. The data were collected from high school students in Seoul(N=394), and the data was then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling by means of SPSS 17.0 and AMOS 7.0. Our results demonstrated that sensation seeking influences juvenile delinquency through delinquent peers. In addition, sensation seeking has a direct influence on juvenile delinquency. Thus, these results proved the partial mediating effects of delinquent peers. This study suggests that delinquent peers play an important role in sensation seeking and supports the interactional theory of a reciprocal relationship between delinquent peers and juvenile delinquency.
