ABSTRACT
This research examined the relationships between trait anger and mother-adolescent's problems in family
communication in terms of anger coping strategies (anger-suppress, anger-out, anger-control) as perceived
by the adolescents. The subjects were 406 adolescents. Data were analyzed by simple regression, stepwise
regression, and path analysis. Our results indicated that (1)trait anger affected two components of anger
coping strategies(anger-out, anger-suppress). (2)The mother's blaming type and super-reasonable type
affected adolescents's variable of anger-suppress. The mother's placating type, blaming type and
super-reasonable type affected adolescents's anger-out. Additionally, the mother's placating type and
super-reasonable type affected adolescents's anger-control. (3)The result of path analysis revealed that trait
anger affected anger-suppress of mother-adolescent's problems in terms of family communication,
super-reasonable type, and trait anger affected the anger-out variable of mother-adolescent's problems in
family communication, and blaming type.
