ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to examine parental authority styles in childhood and dimensions of perfectionism in later adolescence with the expectation that authoritarianism would be associated with perfectionism. The subjects were 431(male 215, female 215) undergraduate students.
A positive link was detected between parents\' authoritarianism and the subjects\' perfectionism. Especially, as for both males and females, a significant positive correlation between authoritarian parenting styles and family-oriented perfectionism.
The results were discussed in terms of their implications for the relationship between parenting styles in childhood and perfectionism in adolescence.
