Understanding of online misdemeanor: processing and suggestions

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study intends to understand what online misdemeanors are and prepare adequate suggestions. In order to do this end, cases which were received at \'Cyber Sexual Violence Report Center\' were analyzed. As a consequence of analysis of 1,463 cases, online misdemeanors are conceptualized. There are four patterns in terms of contents: online harrassment, displaying porn, cyber defamation and cyberstalking. The range of misdemeanors is from simple abusiveness to criminal acts. Online misdemeanors have been taken measurement by review function, ethical instruction and technology regulation. These processes showed limitations when run into manipulation of technology. Users who are moderated by their misconducts tend to commit another type of misdemeanors instead of stopping them. It requires refined services to control online misdemeanors. Three suggestions are recommended: realization of school learning, reinforcement of online contents\' ethical value, cultivation of cyber community\'s awareness.
