A Basic Study for Developing the Strong Family Program for Adolescents

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to analyze high school students and their parents needs about
strong family program for adolescents. For this purpose, the relationships between the values of marriage and family, attitude toward divorce, pride about healthy family formation, and perceived health in family-of-origin were investigated.
The data were collected by questionnaire from 334 high school students and 237 their parents
who resided in metropolitan area. Statistical methods for the data analysis were t-test, ANOVA,
and Regression. The major findings were as follows : 1) The high school students think family
as the important value in their life. But students are negative in family formation through marriage. 2) There were significant differences between male and female students in the values of marriage and family, and attitude toward divorce. 3) The pride about healthy family formation was lower than the others. 4) Perceived health in family-of-origin was relatively good. 5) Perceived health in family-of-origin makes the most significant contribution to pride about happy family formation. 5) Most parents were feeling necessity of strong family program for adolescents.
