ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to reinterpret my experiences of trauma of witnessing couple violence and its meaning, to find out my growth experiences, and to help those who have experienced such trauma by empathizing and understanding. A qualitative research method, collaborative auto-ethnography, was applied and studied. Data from as diaries, memos, recall memories, and interviews written since I was a high school student were collected. As a result of analyzing the data according to the coding method, it was found that I experienced trauma by witnessing couple violence, and that various maladaptive psychological reactions caused by the trauma experience were revealed internally and externally in daily life and interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, the meaning of the trauma experience itself was not evaluated, but the trauma experience as the subject of life and growing up facing a clear self were reevaluated. I hope the courage to study trauma experiences will warm the hearts of the lonely and anxious who have witnessed couple violence and to help intervene in their counseling.
