Influence of the Savoring Beliefs of Middle-Aged Married Women on the Meaning of Life: The Mediated Effect of Positive Emotional Control

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of positive emotional control in relation to the savoring beliefs of middle-aged married women and the meaning of life. To this end, a survey was conducted on 445 married women between 40 and 60 years of age across South Korea, and all data collected were analyzed and verified by using SPSS 24.0 and Mplus 7.0. As a result of the study, first, it was shown that savoring beliefs had a significant bearing on positive emotional control and the meaning of life. Second, the partial mediated model and the complete mediated model were compared to find out the effect of positive emotional control in the relationship between savoring beliefs and the meaning of life. This study confirmed that savoring beliefs affect the meaning of middle-aged married women s lives by means of positive emotional control. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it provides data for effective counseling through understanding the concept of savoring belief and positive emotional control in order to enhance the meaning of life of middle-aged married women.
