Development and Effectiveness of Narrative Therapy Group Counseling Program Using a Cartoon Drawing: Focusing on Self-Esteem and Learned Helplessness of Early Adolescents

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to develop a program and verify its effectiveness to study the effect of a story therapy group counseling program using a cartoon drawing on self-esteem and learned helplessness of early adolescents. The subjects of the study were 22 first and second year middle school students (11 experimental groups and 11 control groups) in the metropolitan area, who had difficulties in self-esteem and learned lethargy, for 8 sessions, twice a week, and self-esteem and learned lethargy tests were conducted through pre-post tests. The collected data were analyzed through quantitative analysis through spss 25 and subjective evaluation methods using activity sites for each session, cartoon contents, and impressions. As a result of the study, the story therapy group counseling program using a cartoon drawing was composed by combining cartoon drawing elements based on story therapy components and flows, and improved the effectiveness and efficiency of group counseling by increasing the interest and participation of early adolescents. In addition, the story therapy group counseling program using a cartoon drawing showed an effect on improving self-esteem of early adolescents and reducing learned lethargy.
