After developing the program by applying six competencies, repeated measures analysis of variance for the same group was used to verify the changes before and after the program, and qualitative analysis was conducted through class activity sheets and observation journals. The results
showed significant changes in all competencies and positive responses in students' perceptions and attitudes. Therefore, this study can help middle school students improve their media literacy competencies, and a balanced education program that considers media and learners should continue to be developed.
