ABSTRACT
The purposes of this study were to investigate preschooler\'s emotional expression depending on experimenter variables (experimenter present/absent segment and preschoolers\' familiarity/unfamiliarity with an experimenter) in a disappointment situation. The participants were 20 3-year-old children (M = 42 months) and 20 5-year-old children (M = 65.9 months) selected from 4 nursery schools in Seoul and Kyung-gi Province. There was a significant difference in children\'s emotional expression according to children\'s age and experimenter variables. Children showed more positive expression in the experimenter present segment than the experimenter absent segment. In particular, 5-year-old children with the unfamiliar experimenter showed more positive emotional expression in the experimenter present segment than the experimenter absent segment. Also, they showed more negative emotional expression in the experiment absent segment than the experimenter present segment.
