The relationship between intention perspective taking and cognitive cuing of Korean children

ABSTRACT
The purposes of this study were to investigate (1) children\'s intention perspective taking according to age of children, types of intention, and intention-outcome fit, (2) cognitive cuing according to age of children, cue type, and emotion-situation fit, and questions promoting a thought process, and (3) the relationship between children\'s intention perspective taking and cognitive cuing. Subjects were forty-one 3-year-old children and forty-one 5-year-old children from two different day-care centers in Seoul and Kyonggi province. Each child was individually interviewed with pictorial tasks. There were significant differences in children\'s intention perspective taking according to their age, types of intention, and intention-outcome fit. There were significant differences in children\'s cognitive cuing according to their age, cue type, emotion-situation fit, and questions promoting a thought process. And it is revealed the relationship between intention perspective taking and cognitive cuing. That is, thinking response and application response of cognitive cuing were positively related to children\'s intention perspective taking.
