ABSTRACT
The primary purpose of this study was to explore the influence of the socio-demographic variables||| self-efficacy|||
job stress||| and interpersonal communication ability of childcare teachers on difficulties with parent-teacher
communication. The current study utilized t-tests||| F-tests||| cognitive relations analysis||| and hierarchical multiple
regression approaches as the statistical analysis methods. The data was gathered from a total of 273
participants||| who are childcare teachers currently working in Gyeounggi-Incheon region nurseries. High
self-efficacy levels and low job-related stress caused less difficulty with parent-teacher communication.
Furthermore||| it was revealed that if a teacher possessed high interpersonal communication abilities||| she or he
had less parent-teacher communication difficulties||| and this variable had more impact than the other variables.
Taken together||| the findings from the current study indicate that self-efficacy||| job stress||| and interpersonal
communication ability of a childcare teacher have significant influence on difficulties with parent-teacher
communication. The study also examined the situations where difficulties with parents-teacher communication
were more likely to occur. Above all||| through upgrading his or her high interpersonal communication abilities|||
a childcare teacher could be expected to resolve many difficulties at firsthand. Overall||| the study offers
consistent clues to resolve the issue across study measures||| and provides findings that would suggest effective
plans to improve the quality of parents-teacher relationships in nurseries.
